Getting Started
No. While Melia Travel Co. is based in Omaha, Nebraska, I work with clients throughout the United States, planning trips remotely by phone, email, and video.
A travel agent (advisor) helps plan, organize, and book vacations based on your preferences, budget, and travel style. We simplify the process and provide expert recommendations.
You can absolutely book it yourself. But when something goes sideways (and eventually something always does), you're on hold with a call center instead of texting someone who already knows your trip. I also often have access to perks, upgrades, and rates you won't find on your own.
I specialize in all-inclusive Caribbean escapes, Alaska cruises, custom European vacations, honeymoons, couples' getaways, and unforgettable bucket-list vacations.
How It Works
You tell me what you're dreaming about (or send me a "help, I have no idea where to start"), and I take it from there. I build out options, handle all the research, and send you a clear proposal. Once you pick your favorite, I handle the booking and everything after.
Yes, I can refine your ideas, compare options, and help you choose the best resort, cruise, or itinerary for your travel style and budget.

Money & Timing
Some itineraries may include a planning fee based on the complexity of the trip and the level of customization requested. If a fee applies, I’ll always discuss it with you upfront.
Yes. Most trips just need a low deposit to lock in, sometimes as little as $50, depending on the supplier. Final payment is usually due 45-90 days before travel. I can also set you up to pay in multiple installments along the way if that's easier on your budget. Either way, you don't have to track any of it, I'll send reminders when payments are coming due.
I'll need a few basics (travel dates, group size, budget range, legal names, and date of birth) to build a real quote instead of guessing. I'm not going to spam you or sell your info, I just can't price out flights and hotels on vibes alone.
It really depends on the trip. Cruises and peak-season travel (holidays, spring break, Europe in summer) book out 6-12 months ahead for the best cabins and prices. All-inclusives can move faster, sometimes 2-3 months out. If you're not sure, just ask, I'll tell you honestly whether you have time or need to move.
Changes & Next Steps
Every supplier has different deposit and cancellation policies, and I'll walk you through the specifics for your exact trip before you book. This is also where travel insurance earns its keep, and I'll always flag when I think it's worth it.
