My overall thoughts on the Canyon Spirit train experience

Melia on the Canyon Spirit

We spent three days traveling through two states of scenery, and had more food than I knew what to do with. Now that I’ve had a minute to unpack and catch back up on all my client activities, I wanted to share what stuck with me about this trip.

You guys, they treat you like royalty. From the second we grabbed our train passes the night before our trip, it felt like the whole thing was designed to make you feel taken care of, not just hauled from point A to point B. You stop checking your phone for directions because someone already thought of everything for you.

The food and drinks just do not stop. I said this a few times over the three days and I’ll say it again, at a certain point I was full in a way I did not know was possible on a train. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, all of it, right on schedule whether you were hungry or not. Day 1 was the standout, but honestly it never let up after that.

Train to hotel and back, and you never touch a bag. This might be my favorite part of the whole trip, for real. Your luggage disappears at one stop and shows up in your hotel room before you even get there. No hauling suitcases through a lobby, no standing around waiting on a bell desk. You just walk in and your stuff is already sitting there.

Same crew the whole trip, giddy up. You have the same chef and the same cabin staff (still working on their official title, but you know who I mean) from start to finish. By day 2 they knew our names, our preferences, probably our whole life story. And yes, I did let them know my hubby works for the railroad :).  It makes the trip feel less like a tour and more like traveling with people who actually get you.

They help with everything, not just the train. Excursions, questions, whatever you needed, someone had an answer before you even finished asking. And they’ve got accessible ramps for guests who need them, which matters a lot more than people think when you’re booking something like this.

Would I recommend it? Absolutely, no question. This isn’t a trip for someone who wants to move fast and see everything in one shot. It’s a trip for someone who wants to sit back, let someone else handle the details, and actually enjoy the scenery instead of managing it. If that sounds like you, or like someone you know, reach out and I’ll walk you through it.
